International Coastal Clean Up |

| Description: | Come and participate in this year's International Coastal Clean Up, organized by Ocean Conservancy and locally by Amigos de Isla Contoy.
This event will take place this Saturday October 11th at 8:00 am.
We will be cleaning up the beaches across Colegio de Bachilleres and across the Garbage Transfer Center.
More than 5,000 volunteers will be cleaning up beaches from Isla Mujeres all the way south to Chetumal.
The garbage is not only picked up but classified by type of article, and the information is sent to the data base of everything collected in Quintana Roo and Mexico. The data base is then sent to Ocean Conservancy and becomes part of the data base of the 123 countries that participate in this yearly event. This effort is to raise awareness of the problem of bad solid waste management and its impact on the oceans and coasts of the world.
Anyone interested to participate is welcomed.
